This is an exciting opportunity to provide strategic leadership across our maintenance operations, ensuring our homes remain safe, compliant, well-maintained and provide excellent value for money. You'll play a key role in driving service improvement, leading high-performing teams and delivering outstanding outcomes for our customers.

Responsible for maintenance services across our social housing stock, trading subsidiaries and partnership arrangements, you'll influence change at scale while helping shape the future direction of our organisation.

What you'll be doing

  • Providing strategic leadership and direction across all maintenance services.
  • Translating organisational priorities into operational plans that deliver measurable outcomes.
  • Leading and developing high-performing, customer-focused teams across multiple locations.
  • Using performance data, customer insight and operational intelligence to drive continuous improvement.
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues across Housing, Property, Estates and Customer Services to deliver joined-up services.
  • Identifying opportunities for innovation, efficiency and service enhancement.
  • Providing challenge, insight and expert advice to inform decision-making and operational delivery.
  • Supporting organisational change, integration and transformation programmes.
  • Contributing to governance, compliance and risk management across a large and complex organisation.
  • Championing health and safety, regulatory compliance and a culture of accountability and excellence.

About you

You'll be an experienced operational leader with a strong track record of delivering high-quality maintenance services within a housing, property or similar customer-focused environment.

You'll have the ability to inspire teams, build strong stakeholder relationships and drive performance through effective leadership, innovation and data-led decision-making.

We are looking for someone who has:

  • A qualification at CIH Level 5, aligned to the Competence and Conduct Standard, or a relevant degree or professional qualification.
  • Significant experience leading high-performing, multidisciplinary and geographically dispersed teams.
  • A proven track record of delivering operational excellence and service improvement within maintenance, housing or a similar service environment.
  • Strong commercial awareness and an understanding of delivering value for money.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the confidence to engage, motivate and challenge at all levels.
  • Experience using performance data and management information to inform strategic and operational decisions.
  • Strong IT and digital skills, with the ability to embrace technology and new ways of working.
  • A commitment to delivering outstanding customer outcomes and maintaining high standards of compliance and safety.

Please see the job description for the full list of essential and desirable criteria.
